Revolution of the Snowboard/Skate industry

Hey all,
Wanted to let you guys in on a little secret. For most of you who snowboard and skate, probably know that it has progressed as far as it's going to. Not meaning that guys and gals are not going to come up with new tricks that we've never seen before, because just wait until the next X Games and there will be a double kangaroo flip, stale fish style with a naked playboy model that pops out of the riders gear at the end. Though,
I digress. But I'm here to tell a lot of you if you haven't heard that you will be riding boards without having to be strapped in. That's right ladies and gentlemen you will be able to ride your board like a skate/surf board with the freedom to say like kick flip your board and have to land it without being strapped in. To me as a skier, and a guy who can't board worth shit, the industry is about to flip the scrip on you guys a bit. Now the guys that I've found that have this down already is a company out of Michigan, called Mash Snow Boards Mash Snow Boards. I had a chance to see this during this last season out at the Snowbird, which was pretty funny because the guys I was riding with could not figure out if this contraption was allowed on the tram?!?!? Because it has a leash and is is a deck on top of a ski. So it's a ski right? They had no clue, but with all the gaper comments these guys got on the way up we're getting mad props by the end of the day. Anyway, mash has taken it to another level, so hit their website to see what I'm talking about. Now just don't tell Burton, DC, and Nidecker, because guess who's going to take credit. Well it's MASH so don't think they don't have their eyes on it. Anyway as always, have a great one and only a few months until next season. Much Love - Sawickied

RIP Mr. Oliva

It has been brought to the attention that a WISCO legend has passed away. Carmelo F. Oliva previous owner of Rib Mountain, now Granite Peak, in Wausau, WI. has died at the age of 77. Rib Mountain was the premier mountain in Wisconsin,, and produced many "WISCO" legends. I know that my mentor, Rick Elliott was a Rib Mountain native and is one of the best skiers I know. You will be Mr. Oliva, enjoy the untracked powder that awaits you in the next life! Our hearts our out to your family, though we know that you had a great life, and know that you are reserving first chair for your friends and loved ones, when that day comes. Thanks for all you've done for Wisconsin and the Mid West for letting us ride your mountain! Much Love - Sawickied

Free Rides

Hey all,

Hope everyone is having or did have a great ski year! Thank God mine and some very lucky others' is not! On April 1st Deep Powder House is kind enough to let their patrons use the High end demo ski's for nothing. Yep, Nada, Nichts, Rien, Niets, Ничего, Niente! I repeat nothing, so if you've tried some ski's and your thinking about buying them for next season, here's your chance. When figure out the ski's that are right for you, do yourself a favor and but from the DPH! Many thanks to the DPH for the offer and to the skiers that return the favor from one of Ski Magazines top 10 ski shops in North America! Much Love as always Sawicki!

Miller Out, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia

Hey All,
Manfred Moelgg of Italy won a World Cup slalom event Sunday while Bode Miller sat out with a bad back. Miller however will retain his lead despite skipping the race. Hopefully with the final downhill, Super G, and slalom races ahead, Miller stands a good chance to claim his second overall title. Miller is the first American to won the over all title since Phil Mahre in 1983. We wish you the best Bode on a speedy recovery to finish what you've started. Sincerely and much love! Sawickied
